WARM AIR HEATING

New to warm air heating or considering an upgrade to a modern new-generation system! Here we explain what they are and how they can benefit your modern home.

QUANTEC ULTRA HIGH EFFICIENCY COMBINATION BOILER WITH INTEGRAL HEAT RECOVERY

The QuanTec HR28C and its LPG equivalent the HR28CP both include integral ‘Heat Recovery’which is the latest innovation for combination boilers. Additional coils are added to the back of the heat exchanger and the incoming cold water supply is preheated by the latent heat in the fl ue gases whenever a hot tap is turned on. This results in increased effi ciencies with running cost savings of up to 26% per year over a standard combination boiler. In addition CO2 emissions are considerably reduced and also pluming is virtually eliminated. Johnson and Starley are the only manufacturers that have been able to achieve this without having to increase the cabinet size of the boiler. With no additional ‘add ons’ required and no increase in physical size, the replacement of existing boilers and new installations is much easier with the QuanTec HR28C/CP with Heat Recovery.

WARMCARE CONDENSING WARM AIR HEATERS

With models ranging from 10kW to 46kW, the WarmCair range represents the most up to date condensing warm air heating technology. Suitable for a wide range of applications such as flats, houses, schools, sports halls, nursing homes, retail units or community centres. With the choice of upflow or downflow models, the WarmCair appliances are up to 98% thermally efficient
reducing gas consumption (-28%) and lowering carbon emissions. The units warm up rapidly
and provide excellent occupant comfort, as well as low noise levels. Being fully compliant with Building Regulations, the floor-standing units are suitable for new build applications as well as
the direct replacement of any existing warm air heaters. WarmCair is also available with an
optional ‘Cleanflow’ electronic air filtration system. The units are simple to install and
incorporate a condensate pump as standard, while the stainless steel heat exchanger helps guarantee a long life expectancy and low maintenance cost.

COMBINED WARMCAIR CONDENSING WARM AIR HEATERS (WITH DOMESTIC HOT WATER)

The Combined WarmCair range offers all the advantages of the WarmCair C range but with the added advantage of providing hot water. Utilising the high efficiency QuanTec boiler technology,
the combined WarmCair is the perfect replacement where hot water is also required. Available in downflow models and fully compliant with Building Regulations, the units are suitable for new build applications as well as the direct replacement of existing warm air heaters. WarmCair is also available with an optional ‘Cleanflow’ electronic air filtration system. With a host of innovative energy saving features and intelligent electronic control, WarmCair was the winner of the ‘International Award’ The units are simple to install and come with a condensate pump as standard, while the stainless steel heat exchanger helps guarantee a long life expectancy and low maintenance costs.

ECONOMAIRE WARM AIR HEATERS

The Economaire range of fanned flued domestic Warm Air Heaters boasts excellent
controllability and exceptional comfort levels: designed to meet the needs of modern families as
well as the latest Building Regulations. The room sealed units are available in three sizes rising
from 9.4kW (32,000 Btu) up to 19.1kW (65,000 Btu) and feature infinitely variable supply air
fan speed and sophisticated electronic controls ensuring the warmth delivered to each room
being accurate to ± 0.1oC, ensuring exceptional comfort. The rooms sealed units facilitate
a direct swap with early warm air heaters popular in post war housing, and offer virtually
immediate heat delivery. The Economaire range further utilises fully modulating burners to
respond to demand and optimise efficiency. Customers have the options of choosing models
with integral water heaters and the ‘Cleanflow’ electronic air filtration is a further option
to improve the indoor environment. Three models are available in the Economaire range to suit
compartment, slot fix or free-standing installations.

AQUAIR S RANGE WATER TO AIR HEAT EXCHANGER

The Aquair ‘Heat Interface Unit’ (HIU) is unique in its design and versatility and will provide all the benefits that centralised heating systems offer. There is no other product on the market that can replace a warm air heater in a single dwelling, fully utilising the existing warm air ducting, be integrated into a centralised heating system, run in conjunction with an existing wet system with the option of supplying unheated air for cooling purposes during warm weather conditions. Aquair HIU can be used with a vast range of heat sources such as natural gas, LPG or oil condensing boilers, heat pumps, biomass, solid fuel or combined heat and power (CHP) Outputs are calculated using a flow temperature of 80°C. Lower flow temperatures can be used although this will result in a reduced output. The installation of an Aquair linked to a suitable heat source has become an efficient and cost effective solution, especially for installers that don’t hold a DAH1 certificate as it means they can replace a warm air heater with a combiboiler and Aquair HIU combination, saving space and giving substantial benefits. Suitable for upflow or downflow the Aquair comes with a wire mesh air filter as standard although this can be upgraded with a Cleanflow electronic filter option (see below). Commonly, it is used to replace an existing warm air unit, where, for example, a gas boiler is the prime heat source. The boiler can be installed to provide hot water and by simply siting the Aquair unit in place of the existing warm air unit, all that is further required is to install a flow and return pipe from the boiler in the same way that a domestic radiator would be installed. In doing this the householder gets the benefits that warm air offers together with a choice of instantaneous or stored hot water depending on the type of boiler installed. If the property has any unheated rooms, additional radiators can be installed accordingly. The result is an installed heating system which is very desirable to the end user and a system which is quick and easy to install and creates little disturbance to the occupier during installation.

CLEANFLOW ELECTRONIC FILTRATION

The cleanflow electronic filtration option will provide the system with the added benefit
of filtered air within the home. With the heating running at every pass the air will be
filtered and 95% of airborne pollutants down to 1 micron can be removed. Particles such
as pollen, house dust and cigarette smoke will be eliminated.
